The first part of the anime premiered worldwide on Netflix on February 26. The anime’s first 13 episodes were made available all at once.

The Baki Dou anime centers on the resurrection of Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary swordsman from Japanese history, who is brought into the modern era through experimental science. His return draws the attention of underground fighters, martial artists, and champions seeking to test their strength against a warrior from a different age.

As Musashi confronts modern combat techniques with his traditional swordsmanship, the series explores themes of strength, violence, and the meaning of combat in a contemporary world. His presence disrupts long-standing power hierarchies within the underground fighting scene and places him on a direct collision course with Hanma Baki and other elite fighters.
